There are a lot of great messages and encouraging words that have been spoken or written from great people- big or small, in the earth. A lot of those great messages of inspiration we have seen recycled throughout Instagram, Facebook or wherever else. One of the greatest inspirational authors of pastime is better known as C.S. Lewis. One of my favorite quotes by Mr. Lewis says, "There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way,." The thing I have discovered about some of the most amazing quotes is-- they often become sensationalized without really taking to heart their meaning.
Another great quote that I've heard several times is, "I don't look like what I've been through." I'm not too familiar with the person who may have coined the phrase, but it carries a lot of weight in the Christian arena. Although quotes are highly beneficial in enhancing our and shaping our frame of thinking, we must become wise enough to consider their origin of being. Most inspirational quotes that we do tend to hear or see comes from the perspective or basis of God's word. So, it is no wonder that we don't look like what we have been through because God keeps us!
Here are a few scriptural reasons why we don't look like what we've been through!
Isaiah 43:2(NLT): When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.
Deuteronomy 29:5-6(MSG): I took you through the wilderness for forty years and through all that time the clothes on your backs didn't wear out, and you lived well without bread and wine and beer, proving to you that I am in fact God, your God.
Job 10:12(NLT): You gave me life and showed me your unfailing love. My life was preserved by your care.
Psalm 91:3-4(NLT): For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
For indeed the Lord says, " I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name." | Psalm 91:14.
