Launching Deeper

South Carolina, Summer 2015

Over the weekend our great country, America, celebrated its Independece on July 4th. With all of the celebrations with firework displays and boat rides across the Tri-State area, I couldn't help but to be taken captive by all the festivities taking place. I love gatherings, and I love people coming together to have good, clean fun!

Early Sunday morning as I was waking up, I heard these words spoken by the Holy Spirit, "launch into the deep." As I heard those words, I felt as those God is wanting us, His children, to go deeper...deeper in believing Him, deeper in trusting Him, and having more faith in Him to see that what hasn't work in pastimes WORK. I was reminded of the story of the fishermen(better known as the disciples) in Luke chapter 5, versus 1-11 in the bible. Here in this beautiful story was Peter and several other disciples first encounter with Jesus. Here in the story Jesus was teaching a multitude of people in a boat that belonged to Peter.

Peter was known to be a fisherman. After Jesus had preached to a large amount of people, He spoke to Peter and said, "launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch." Peter, who had grown accustomed to doing the same thing without any results, replied to Jesus and said, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at your word I will let down the net." What makes this passage so relevant to our time is that: just as The Lord encouraged Peter to let down his net to get what he had been waiting for, He Is encouraging us to do the same. The season that we are in is like no other season. God is saying for us to go a step further, go deeper, try one more time. The very thing that didn't work before, is going to work THIS time. This time, you're going to CATCH what you've been waiting for. The blessing is guaranteed as we trust God.

God is ready to put some things into our hands that has been ordained for us to have, but we must continue to trust and listen to His instruction just as Peter did. There are three things that I felt impressed to encourage you in doing:

1. Make sure Jesus is IN whatever it is that you are doing. Luke 5:1-3

2. Listen to the instruction that God gives to you. Like 5:4

3. Have FAITH! Faith without works is dead! Luke 5:6, James 2:26
