Prayers That Build

Prayer is more than a dialogue between you and God. Prayer builds and establishes you before God, and it also builds and establishes what you are praying for. If you've been feeling like your praying is unseen, I want you to be encouraged in knowing that God eyes are on what you have been building and establishing in your place of prayer!

Under Your Feet

And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. | Romans 16:20

Laguna Beach, California 2016

Laguna Beach, California 2016

I want to encourage every believer by the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ that the victory belongs to you in this season. Know that it does not matter what the enemy may be trying or what he has attempted to do-- it will not work! God has fixed the battle, and no weapon formed against you will be able to prosper. I want to remind you of the triumphant power and victory that was given to you because of what our Lord Jesus Christ demonstrated:

"And having disarmed spiritual powers and authorities, he(Jesus) shamed them publicly by triumphing over them on the cross."  Colossians 2:15

This great victory performed by Jesus allows you to wave your victory flag! Jesus fufulfilled prophecy that he would crush the enemy's head, Genesis 3:15. Through Jesus, God was able to pre-assign a station to our enemies: UNDER OUR FEET! Thank God that Jesus was obedient to God even unto death! and therefore, he pleased God causing his enemies to be subjugated to his authority.

I feel encouraged by the Lord to admonish every believer very strongly to continue to stay in right standing with Him, for in doing so not only keeps the demonic realm subject to you(Luke 10:20), but you will be in a place of pleasing the Father. The word of God declares, "When a man's ways pleases the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him." Proverbs 16:7. Your obedience to God is what keeps the enemy bound; and what he desires to do, he will NOT be able to do because you will have a foothold on him! For this very reason is why the enemy has been fighting you in the way that he has because in the spiritual realm(what we can't see), your foot is on his neck limiting his movement! Don't for one second contemplate that he is winning because you feel a little heat or hear a little roar; you have dominating power!

You are graced to win in this season! And surely your faith in God will not be put to shame. Shout hallelujah, the devil is defeated!

Here's that song to encourage you below!

Trying To Figure "It" Out

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.  | Proverbs 3:5-6

Palm Springs, California

Palm Springs, California

I was sitting on my bed trying to figure out some things that I went through last year, and every time I would think on that it would take my temperament in another direction. It would "dial me down" so to speak. Then I heard the Holy Spirit say, "Every time you think on that it robs you of your joy." When I heard God speak that I was reminded of Proverbs 3:5-6, leaning not on our own understanding. For most Christians, this scripture is all too popular and sometimes we quote things that we really have not yet to understand until the Holy Spirit breaths on His word. When God breaths on something, it then becomes ALIVE; it's like God turning a lightbulb on in a dark area so that we can see.

Proverbs 3:5 does not impose that we don't have the right to ask "how?" or "why?". Many people believe in the assumption that we are not to question God. That assumption is totally wrong and it isn't scriptural. In fact, the scripture in this proverb imposes upon us that we should acknowledge God who then brings DIRECTION. Acknowledging God on a matter can come in the form of a question or simply talking to God about something. Oftentimes scriptures are packed like grocery bags that we must unpack and place into mathematical equations to see the answer. Let's "unpack" Proverbs 3:5 and put it in a simple mathematical formula:

1. Trust God

2. Don't lean more towards self

3. Acknolwedge God in this way, that way, and that way(on every turn)

4. Direction comes to my pathway

Notice that #4 is the answer as a result of 1-3. When we do the first three steps then we leave room for the Lord to bring us direction in what we don't yet understand. Clarity comes when we stop or acknowledge God because now you give God the opportunity to meet you on your pathway. When we lean towards self, we actually begin to take ourselves out of the realm of peace and joy and then we become an open-target to be preyed upon. See, a pathway is a WALKWAY; and every time we try to figure out EVERYTHING without the direction of God we get STUCK. The Lord says that this is a major reason why people are frustrated with life or turn and walk away from their "pathway" because they tried to figure out something that they didn't acknowledge God on. When we acknowledge God He causes us to keep moving so that we don't get stuck in the "how?" or "why?" zones!

Whatever you are contemplating today, know that the answer will come! God is going to bring you direction as you acknowledge Him! He will do it! Ask the Holy Spirit to help you dial into His Word and fresh revelation is going to come to you in an amazing new way.

Amen!

Put A Prayer On It

...but in every situation, by prayer and petition, and with giving thanks unto God, present your request to Him. | Philippians 4:6

Last night as I was driving on the freeway I was talking to the Lord about a personal thing that I wanted His assistance with. We all know that we can naturally do things to get things along, but there are some things that are mandatory for the hand of God to be involved in. My situation required His mandatory assistance; nothing bad but I just want God's help in the matter! Anyway, as I was asking for God's assistance, The Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, "put a prayer on it." Huh? Put a prayer on it? I said to myself. Now I totally understood what the Lord was saying to me, but I'm learning to WAIT for God to give me the revelation behind what He speaks to me.

It might sound strange to some; but when I heard the Lord say "put a prayer on it", it instantly reminded me of the very popular song by Beyonce titled, "Put A Ring On It". Now if you've read anything about Jesus, He loves using metaphors! and He gave me one from this song. One of the main verses from the tune says, "If you liked it then you should have put a ring on it.". Although the lyrics to Beyonce's song are fast and catchy, she was sending a bigger message that went beyond the dancing and beats. Her singing about a ring was sending a message to a man(or men) that she wanted PHYSICAL evidence that she belonged to someone. A ring causes people to know that you are seriously involved with someone. It lets people know that you are loved and that you are officially off the market; and if you have been dating someone for a loooong amount of time, I'm quite sure you want a "security blanket"(i.e. ring)!

Just as a ring secures or solidifies a relationship, PRAYER secures what you and I are believing God for! And to make it even more plain: prayer is like giving a security deposit to God; and faith takes care of the remaining balance!

Now as I was writing my notes in my phone regarding this message, the Lord really had "security blanket" to hit my heart rather strong, so I went to do some research on it. It blew my mind with what I read! Wikipedia describes a security blanket as a comfort object, TRANSITIONAL object, or an item used to provide PSYCHOLOGICAL COMFORT, especially in UNUSUAL OR UNIQUE situations. Wow! Now look at this. The bible declares that when we pray we are to BELIEVE God for what we are asking Him for, and therefore, we will have it! Mark 11:24. Believing is another term for faith. Like a security blanket, our faith is what provides us "psychological comfort" during those "unusual" or trying moments when we are waiting on the manifestations of our prayers. Those moments are called our transitional moments where we go from substance(faith) to evidence.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of the things not seen." Hebrews 11:1.

Know that the Lord is wanting us to make our request known unto Him so that He can answer us. | Philippians 4:6.

The Golden Image

They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshipped and served the created things rather than the Creator, who is forever praised. Amen. | Romans 1:25 NIV

Each and everyone of us should be receiving something from God each time we step foot into a church service. However, far too often are too many people going to church to "cheer" at preachers and pastors in the form of entertainment instead of really receiving deposits from those that they hear. Many who preach are not delivering God's word as they should because they are caught up in this same activity; and thus, begin to create a "GOLDEN IMAGE" for themselves. Once an image is created, we then begin to exchange the Truth(true and living God) and accept a lie(whatever is false) which becomes idolatry.

I honestly believe that when we distance ourselves from God's voice, we begin to erect images or things to fill our "Voice" void. This is what resulted in the lives of the children of Israel in the Old Testament. The word of God declared this as God would speak to Moses in Exodus chapter 20:18-19:

"Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off. Then they said to Moses, 'You speak to us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.'"

Aaron, who was a leader and Moses' mouthpiece, yielded and fell to idolatry as a result of listening to people. His yielding to the voice of man is what resulted in the creation of a false image before God. Exodus 32:1-5. Just as Aaron, there are ministers and people in the body of Christ who are listening to other people and as a result are creating an IMAGE. Do you know why God appointed Joshua to be Moses' successor? Because he was always at the same place where Moses was while the children of Israel were cheering and having  fun celebrating an image that was of no match to the God that delivered them out of the hand of the Egyptians. Two distinctions are very clear in the bible:

The children o f Israel:  "and they rose up early on the next day, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings(to a golden calf); and the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play." Exodus 32:6

Joshua:   "and the Lord spoke unto Moses face to face, as a man speaks unto his friend. And he turned again unto the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man,  did not part from the tabernacle." Exodus 33:11

Do you see the difference between the two?  While the children of Israel were celebrating, Joshua positioned himself to receive from God. And he wasn't even related to Moses! The Lord impressed upon my heart that this is why he is beckoning us to come and sit at His feet, take His yoke upon us and LEARN FROM HIM, Matthew 11:29. God wants to teach us some things! He wants to impart in us some things, and He cannot do that if our lives are filled with golden calves! When we learn from the Lord, we RECEIVE; and what we receive is what makes the difference in our lives!

God is speaking for us to position ourselves in the "tabernacle"(i.e. our places of worship) so that he may have SUCCESORS in His kingdom! Amen.

The Anointing To Follow

Follow me, and I'll make you fishers of men. | Matthew 4:19

Los Angeles Flower District

Los Angeles Flower District

In this new year, there is going to be an increase in the release of the same anointing that was on the word that Jesus spoke when he said, "Follow me, and I'll make you fishers of men." Matthew 4:19. Do you know that an anointing was released that caused young men(known as the 12 disciples) to follow Jesus? That anointing was CONVICTION, which is also influence. Because Jesus was the Divine Fisher of Men, the anointing of influence rested upon him. That influence was for salvation, or, the saving of many lives. As the 12 apostles followed Christ, an anointing came upon them as well, and was made manifest which we read all throughout the book of Acts in the bible.

If you think about this, I don't think anyone follows someone unless there is first a conviction(influence) to do so. When conviction is present, an anointing is present; and when an anointing is present, God is present. This is identifiable even by great influencers such as Michael Jordan, which is why everybody wanted to "be like Mike." Michael Jordan has a huge following to this day! But to complete the topic of discussion, Jesus said this, "No man comes to the Father unless they first be drawn." John 6:44. He also said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father but by me." John 14:6. So we discover through these two scriptures that a convincing anointing was upon Jesus.

Paul, an apostle of Christ, also demonstrated that the same anointing was active in his life when he said this, "Be followers of me, even as I also am of Christ." 1st Corinthians 11:1. Paul's ministry had a great following. So we see through scripture that an anointing comes upon our lives which draws individuals as we follow Christ.

As you continue to follow The Lord, a new anointing of influence(or conviction)is going to flow that will be followed with the sign of people beginning to listen to you and also being drawn to things of God. The Webster Dictionary describes conviction as:

:convincing, compelling, persuasive

May a convincing, compelling, and persuasive anointing be upon you all year long as you come in contact with people throughout the year!

God Is Speaking To Waco

"Make an altar of earth for me... & wherever I cause My name to be honored, I will come to you and bless you." Exodus 20:24

Christmas season 2015 in Waco, Tx

Christmas season 2015 in Waco, Tx

As a native of Waco, Texas, born and raised, I can't tell you how surprised I am at the growth of this small, yet great city that I once lived in. Living in a fast and bustling city on the east coast for 9 1/2 years and seeing how fast people live on a daily basis causes me to look back and appreciate where I was raised. I've always loved big cities. As a kid I would visit Houston, Texas to visit relatives, and when I graduated from high school that's where I went to college. But as I get older, I realize that I'm ok with living approximately close to a big city while living in a quiet neighboring location. It's fair enough for me to say, "Been there, done that!".

During the last two years that I have gone home to visit my family in Waco, for some reason I would get excited, which was unusual for me; not that I wasn't excited to see my family, but normally when I there I'm usually always on the go or "in and out" as my mom would say. That was because for me, there was no excitement. For most people my age, we wouldn't think twice about living there for the rest of our days. But something different was happening. A little prior to the success of Chip & Joanna Gaines' big hit, "Fixer Upper" on HGTV, a turnaround was taking place. First, it started with Baylor University's football team. A young man by the name of Robert Griffin III(RG3)was creating a successful name for himself and the Baylor Bears. People were coming into town to see the games, and then new establishments started opening up. Remodeling started to happen at the Brazos River and Waco Suspension Bridge. Then there was a revamping of the Baylor University's football stadium. Something different was happening.

Then a woman who is simply doing what she loves, blogging about designing, decorating, and family gets picked up by national tv. Something different was happening. Chip & Joanna Gaines, natives of Waco, Texas, are now being cast on HGTV. How awesome is that?!

But during my recent trip home for the holidays during Christmas, God spoke to me around 3:00 in the morning while I was in a hotel in Austin, Texas. I tossed and turned and didn't know why, and as I woke up, The Lord said these words:

"A great REVIVAL is coming to Waco. There is a great light shining upon this city that has nothing to do with TV cameras...Don't miss the message. Whenever I bring attention to a place, it is because a PLATFORM is there with My name on it. The revival of broken places, physical and spiritual shall be restored. The same Breath of Life that was used to restore dry bones in a dead place & people is BLOWING. IT IS THE LORD, says The Lord."

Waco, Texas, God is speaking REVIVAL to you which is not limited to a church building. Whenever God moves His glory into a place, RESTORATION begins. There are many people calling upon the name of The Lord in Waco, and as they have built a "platform" or altar before God, He is honoring this city and blessing it! The word REVIVAL, according to Webster Dictionary means this:

:a period in which something becomes popular again after a long period of time

:the growth of something or an increase in activity of something after a period of no growth or activity

Think of a revival as God's Ark(His presence) simply moving into your home and blessing you just as it did with Obed-edom of Gath in the Old Testament! The bible says this, "The ark of the Lord remained there in Obed-edom's house for three months, and the Lord BLESSED Obed-edom and his entire household." 2nd Samuel 6:11.

May you perceive this truth that God is in your midst. Amen!

A House of Prayer

"My house shall be called a house of prayer." Matthew 21:13

Predistined For Purpose Ministries, Yonkers, New York.

Predistined For Purpose Ministries, Yonkers, New York.

Last month on July 30th of this year, I had a dream throughout the middle of the night that I was standing on a stage in a theatre for a church service. In the dream as I began to pray on this stage I became distracted by the level of disrespect from the people that were sitting in the audience. As I prayed, my eyes were closed but at the same time it was as though I could see what was going on around me. Many people within the theatre were talking and whispering. Some were eating snacks on the front row and moving throughout the theatre with no level of reverence for the place that we called the house of God. It all seemed so natural to the people, just as it would if you were sitting in a movie theatre eating and talking while a moving is playing.

image.jpg

As the dream continued, I stopped praying and began to tell the people sitting within the theatre to repent of these kinds of simple activities in this church. I remember laying on the stage of the movie theatre crying so hard... It appeared as though I was broken and hurt from what was happening and then I woke up.

When I awoke that morning I forgot the dream, but as I began to pray God brought it back to my remembrance. I truly believe that God had me to share this dream because our churches as a whole has disrespected Him by treating His churches or houses of worship like movie theaters. We are truly all guilty. We eat, talk and text people throughout service and constantly move around throughout church services while pastors and preachers are giving the morning message.

The place where we worship and praise God is the same place where God's presence abides and shows up to manifest His love, grace, healing and deliverance, and voice. Jesus made this very clear. One day while Jesus was in Jerusalem he paid the temple of God a visit. I believe he was more than likely going in to simply pray and worship. When he walked into the temple, Jesus became very upset at what the people within the temple had made of it(Matthew 21:12). Jesus spoke these words to everyone within the temple saying, "It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves." Matthew 21:13. I truly believe that God is reminding us of more than just our eating or texting, but the purpose of His presence within our midst. We are to not grieve God because of our disobedience.

As soon as Jesus corrected what had happened in the temple, we immediately see that the healing manifestation of God was performed as the blind and the lame came to him and were healed. Matthew 21:14. This is what God wants and it is still His will to see His presence flow throughout our midst.

Don't rob God of this exchange. He still wants to MOVE, and we must continue to respect His mighty power in order for Him to move.
